The ‘Who’ and the ‘Why’ behind The Numbers Assistant

Hi and welcome! 👋
I’m Maxine, The Numbers Assistant. Thank you for reading to find out more about me. I’d love to tell you a little about myself, because why would you want to do business with someone you know nothing about?
A large driver for starting The Numbers Assistant was to be a real person in business and not just a faceless business.
3 things you should know about me:
I’m based in beautiful Cornwall, UK. With the beaches and the moors all within easy reach for those moments that only a breath of fresh air will do, you’ll often find me outside making the most of the surroundings I moved here to enjoy.

I love to be out on the local rivers on my paddleboard.
The peace, the stillness and the simplicity of being out on the water calms me and reminds me to take that deep breath and re-centre.
If I’m not at my desk or enjoying the fresh air, I’m in the gym, reading, crafting or gaming.
I aim to get to the gym several times a week with friends. It is as much of a social outing as it is a workout – both physically and mentally great for me.

Time for The Numbers Assistant
Over the last 20 years, I have held various different positions within finance teams from ‘junior’ to ‘manager’. And now I’m ready to fulfil a dream that’s been growing. To take The Numbers Assistant into the world.
Now is my time to do things a little differently. To be a real person that wants to do business with other real people. To run a business that is focussed on creating the work-life balance that I have often found to be missing.
I hope to share some useful tips through blogging that will help business owners spend their time away from all the data and focus on the dream for their own businesses. To simplify how all the data is presented. To produce a bigger picture overview in one clear dashboard.
Alongside this, I’d love to get into your accounts software and complete those tasks that get pushed aside until tax filing time. All that reconciliation work that you could do without – I thrive on it. The management accounts each month that you really should get to – I love that stuff.
